Clinical FAQ

Manual

Yes, it is different. By using a rotational tilt, the pivot point (or centre of rotation) rotates around the user's centre-of-gravity, whereas a traditional tilt-in-space rotates around a pivot point outside of the user's centre-of-gravity. Therefore, the Iris' rotational system allows for the shortest wheelbase possible without compromising stability. It also means that the caregiver will be able to position the user in tilt and back from tilt in a smooth and controlled manner.
The Quickie Iris has 3 tilt ranges. The standard 55 degree seat frame can be set up in -5 to 50, 0-55, and 5 to 60 degrees. The 40 degree seat frame can be set up as -5 to 35, 0 to 40, and 5 to 45. If pressure relief is the goal, the 60 degrees of tilt is the ideal solution; however, if an individual's needs are more for positioning relief, the 40 degree frame may be better.
Yes, the Zippie Zone offers an angle adjustable footplate that can flip-back out of the way for transfers.
Yes, the Quickie 2 Lite offers a similar Angle Adjustable Backrest that allows for multiple back angle positions and can be set to the height of the user's Posterior Superior Iliac Spine (PSIS).
Yes, the ovalized tubing used for the seat frame, axle plate and caster housing is more than just aesthetically pleasing! Ovalized tubing gives increased vertical strength which decreases frame flex and increases the chair's overall rigidity. A more rigid chair allows for more efficient propulsion.

The VR2 is a basic system for customers that don't need the added Seating and Specialty Control Devices - with an Option for Tilt or Attendant Control. It has similar control shape to R-Net but has a Grey Joystick connector compared to the Yellow Connector the R-Net has. R-Net will give you all that you need from multi seating to Specialty Controls including Blue Tooth Mouse and IR Communication.
The Pulse and Rhythm both have A.S.A.P. seating which is width Adjustable.

Ideally we strive to have a ˝ inch of the protective medium beneath the lowest point of immersion in the pelvic loading area. Less then a ˝ inch could lead to bottoming out and more than a ˝ inch could mean that the client is not optimally immersed.
