Steve Boucher, OT
Steve joined Sunrise Medical in 2003 as an Account Manager after working for 7 years as clinician. Steve has a
Bachelor's Degree in Science with a focus in Occupational Therapy from the University of New England in
Biddeford, Maine. Steve's clinical experience includes working as a Level II Senior Clinician, and a Rehab Manager.
Steve also spent three years working in a wheelchair clinic. Steve has served as a Clinical Advisor to fellow Occupational
Therapists, as well as graduating students. He is currently part of 4-person multidisciplinary team that educates
graduating Physical Therapists on wheelchair and seating products at Northeastern University. Steve has
recently presented for the Massachusetts Association Occupational Therapy Special Interest Group on both
Pediatrics and Adult Manual and Power Wheelchair Function.
Angie Kiger, Clinical Education Specialist
Angie joined the Sunrise Medical team in the spring of 2012 as a Clinical Education Specialist. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Therapy from Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. Angie also earned a Master of Education degree in Assistive Technology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. In addition, she earned a certificate in Assistive Technology from California State University at Northridge. Angie is an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
Prior to joining the Sunrise team, Angie spent 12 years working at a sub-acute and transitional care pediatric hospital in Washington, DC as the Senior Therapist for the Assistive Technology Department and the Recreational Therapy & Child Life Department. Angie has had the opportunity to work with infants to young adults with a variety of diagnoses and special needs in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Angie has also worked as a contractor providing Assistive Technology evaluations and training in the local public school systems. In addition to working as a clinician, Angie has served as an adjunct instructor at George Mason University in the Assistive Technology program and presented at numerous conferences all over the country.
Ken Kalinowski, Senior Service Technician
Ken joined Sunrise Medical in October 2001 with over 20 years in the industry and 12 years of experience
instructing at technical training schools for a wheelchair manufacturer. Ken holds both an Electronics Engineering
Technician Diploma and Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma. Ken has supervised and conducted
electronic troubleshooting for over 26 years, in addition to repairing surface mount component boards. In
conjunction with the training he provides in the USA and Canada, Ken recently wrote an article for NRRTS. Ken’s
expertise as a power chair troubleshooter along with his routine customer interface and hands-on experience
brings a unique component to his teaching style and the Power Technical Training Program.
Jeff Rogers, Sr. Product Manager
Jeff joined Sunrise in 2003 as a Design Engineer focusing on Product Sustaining Engineering (PSE) where he
was responsible for improvements of legacy products. Following his time in Engineering, Jeff moved into Product
Management where he focused on multiple product segments and currently manages Replacement Parts and
Built-4-Me. An extensive engineering background coupled with an emphasis on serviceability, allows Jeff to bring
a comprehensive and detailed approach to his presentation.
Steve Fox, Director of Clinical Services
Steve entered our industry in 1995 as an RTS. Venturing beyond the supplier side of the business, Steve joined
Sunrise in 2002 and has since held numerous positions including Sales, Product Management, Training and
Marketing. Steve is an active member and proud supporter of multiple homecare organizations and having
worked on all sides of the industry, he has a unique ability to apply his broad skill set to relate to multiple
audiences and provide fact based solutions.
Claudia Amortegui, President, The Orion Group
Claudia received her Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. She
worked with Palmetto Government Benefits Administrators (DMERC Region C) for three years, and then became
a sales representative for Quickie Designs, a division of Sunrise Medical. Shortly thereafter, Claudia became the
Director of Reimbursement and in early 1998, she returned to Sunrise Medical to begin a new venture for the
company as Director of Consulting Services leading to her purchase of Sunrise Consulting which she formed into
The Orion Group.
Claudia has presented to and worked with DME providers to improve their overall Medicare business. She has been published and has written her own monthly feature for Mobility Management magazine. Claudia is a member of the Medicare MAC Jurisdiction C Council. Her experience comes from having worked on all sides of the industry. This rare combination of industry experience enables Claudia and her team at the Orion Group to assist people in understanding the reimbursement process and to teach them how they can not only be successful, but also outperform others in the industry. |
